How we work this out
We count the bags you get through and multiply by the weight printed on them. Everything else — cost, and litter per cat per year — comes from the optional figures you add.
Step by step
- Work out lifetime bags: years × 12 months × bags per month.
- Multiply by the weight of one bag to get total mass.
- Multiply by price per bag for lifetime cost, if you supply one.
- Divide total mass by years × cats for a per-cat, per-year figure.
What this does not claim
- Your monthly bag count is applied evenly across the whole period, including years with a different number of cats.
- Bag weight is whatever your usual bag says. Litter types differ substantially in density.
- Prices are shown in your chosen currency without any conversion or inflation adjustment.
